lar_laughs: (that tickles - st. baldricks)
I started the day a little stressed. When I contacted my friend who was going to do my dye job, I thought she had the dye. She thought I had the dye. That meant that when I walked over to her house, we just sort of stared at each other for several uncomfortable seconds. I'm pretty sure she knew that she should have had it as she is the hair stylist and she was the one who knew where to get it. I was ready to head back home when she suggested we go buy it. It's something that has to be bought in Twin Falls, the larger city an hour away. And then she started making a list of things she needed to get from Wal-Mart and Costco.

All I could do was hold the smile on my face. I told her to come pick me up at my house and then went home and ranted to my mother for a good five minutes. Part of my problem was that I was not made up for public consumption. There was no way I could get made up for public consumption as I didn't want to mess with my hair at all so it was wrapped in a new scarf that I got on Friday (it will be very cool... er, warm when I don't have hair!) and I was wearing my dye-job t-shirt. I found another shirt (only slightly clean... grrr!) and decided to keep the scarf in place. That is how I went shopping.

My other problem was that I didn't really want to talk. And talking with L is always a challenge for me. She's my sister's friend but we've known her family forever. She's like my little sister which is sometimes uncomfortable for me because I'm the big sister! I want to fix everything! And she does a lot of whining/complaining because that is her personality. After being sort of sullen for about half an hour, I started opening back up and then I heard it again... her complaining is such a plea for help. What she really wants to hear is "You're okay and what you think is perfectly valid" and once I got there once again, I had a better day. Helping her always helps me out. So I'm in a much better frame of mind.

Of course, that also means that I don't have my story done. I only need a few hundred more words so... I shouldn't complain.

You only wish YOU could look like a crayon!!!!

And if you have a few dollars to spare, I could use some more donations! A HUGE chunk of the money raised through St. Baldricks go towards Childhood Cancer Research. It has a really good rating with the non-profit people as not abusing donations. Last year, Boise (where my sister works) got a good sized portion to be used for equipment and also some research that was going on. Every little bit helps KIDS battle the demon they never asked to have to deal with!

Heck, I'll throw in a story if you want!

Go Here to donate for me or use the site to find someone in your area you can donate towards!!!!
