Land Comms

Guess who is a proud member of [livejournal.com profile] scifiland's Team AntiHero?

ME! Well, as soon as I get my invite to the team comm, that is.

Anyone want to make me a snazzy sigtag? *bats eyelashes*

I'm going to give some up at the break. Thinking seriously about giving up [livejournal.com profile] whedonland which would make me incredibly sad as I have all sorts of friends there but a lot of them seem to be leaving, too. My team is still wonderful but I don't feel that the community in general is as deserving of my loyalty.

I enjoy the challenges at [livejournal.com profile] themiddleearth but kinda feel like I'm floating off by myself. Part of the problem is that I don't really know anyone on my team and they don't do a lot of social things.

*sigh* [livejournal.com profile] castleland is going to go. I like the comm and I like my team but I have no muse where Castle is concerned. How sad is that?

[livejournal.com profile] leverageland is iffy at this point. [livejournal.com profile] inception_land looked to be dying but it was revived but I've had nothing good happen at that comm so I'm going to let them cut me. I was called "hon" by a 18 year old. It's just wrong.

Scifi land is fun :)

I always said I'd never leave Whedonland but I don't know what's happened the second half of this last phase. I'm not leaving, just hoping things will pick up again next phase - and with the promise it will even quieter I can't see there'll be much to do.

This is my first phase at castleland and season 2 is about to start airing here so my overall enthusiasm and inspiration is pretty high at the moment, but we'll see how it goes.

I can't join leverageland/caperland because I'm so far behind with the shows :(

Meantime I love my Team Cara at legendland plus I've got fantasyverse (but that's very slow/laidback). If I did drop one (perhaps take a phase off) I know I'd have time to do other things. I've got fic to read and write, Yuletide will be on us soon, and so on. But landcomms are where I found most of my LJ friends so I'm torn.

RE: being called 'hon'; it happened to me when I was part of merlin_land and it weirded me out slightly. It's not even something we generally use in the UK and I always imagine a thirties or older female Southerner using it affectionately to someone she's close to, or patronising to someone she's not...

Isn't it strange that I'd rather be called "kiddo" than "hon"? My friends all comment that "kiddo" is much more insulting but I can stand it more. Guess it's because I was the youngest for so long so I was "kiddo" and it was affectionate but "hon" is most always condescending. I don't know. Guess I should BUCK UP! *grins*

I've also found a lot of my current LJ friends on land comms so it's sad when I walk away from them. The crazy thing is that I feel more like a Land Comm "leaver" than an "addict" because I always keep them to about 3-4 at a time.

Oh well. It happens!
