Fred had seen many things in her lifetime, both horrible and pleasant, but nothing prepared her for shopping with Cordelia. While she was having a great time… well, an alright time… she couldn’t shake the feeling that she wasn’t a “mall” kind of girl. Surely getting clothes was easier than having to try on a hundred outfits in, at least, twelve stores. Her skin was chafing from all the strange fabrics. Fred was looking for an exit but Cordy was still going strong.
“Please,” she begged but her clothing mentor wouldn’t let her continue.
“One more. You owe me that.”

“Do we have any cavier?” he asked but Xander only glared so he went back to his magazine. Surely there was something in their less-than-generous price range that he could afford to try. The problem is that he only liked a few foods. That left out anything with vegetables and most meat products. Not much was left. Maybe he better stick to Pop-Tarts after all.

Zoe looked down at the hand Wash held out. Dirt was still embedded in his fingernails from his afternoon helping Kaylee in the engine room. His suit would have been wrinkled if she hadn’t seen to it. The least he could have done was wash up.
He followed her gaze, blushing. “I’ll be right back.”
“Yes, you will.”
Kaylee moved closer. “Don’t you just love dancing?”
“I would if my husband had taken the time to clean up.” But Zoe couldn’t help smiling at the thought that soon she would dance under the glittering ball.

The best thing about Southern California was the spectacular rain storms. When the first drop of water splattered, Tara put aside her books and ran for the door.
“Come with me,” she called to Willow every time but the other girl would just shake her head. So Tara ran alone, making a fool of herself but not caring what anyone thought. She didn’t dance under the pelting weather for anyone but herself.
One day, Willow nodded instead of shaking her refusal. Together they danced between drops. It was the best day of Tara’s life and one that Willow remembered forever.
