The Way the Story Goes (PG; Pansy, Goyle)
Feb. 14th, 2006 09:23 pmI have decided to take Ilex's advice... but it takes awhile to get there. I've decided to write Pansy/Goyle. Why? I love Goyle! I adore Goyle! He is one of those characters that deserves so much more than what he gets in the books. Everyone sees him as a hulk. Don't you remember the schoolyard bully that stood one step behind the pretty boy who needed defending because his mouth got him in trouble? That is Goyle.
Pansy's power is obvious. She radiates a power that people gravitate to... which means it's a power that has to be worked at. Over and over, she needs to make sure that she's on track so that she keeps her followers.
Goyle's power is hidden down deep. It's who he is. If he couldn't take care of himself and Draco, do you think he would have gotten the job? People may not gravitate to him like someone as obviously outgoing like a Harry Potter, but they listen when he speaks. They find themselves doing what he says without realizing it.
In "current time" (book 6) he hasn't gotten it all together. He needs some distance, some age, a reason to move.
That being said... here is the first of many fics, I hope. This isn't what I want it to be but none of them ever are.
