I've been whittling away at the Hufflepuff House
potterverse100 prompt table for a month (and two days but who's counting) and I'm now officially a fifth of the way through. Yep, twenty stories. And with those 20 stories, I've written 15824 words (if my addition is still good). It's no NaNo but that's pretty good considering I'm also writing two... no, three other tables as well as other daily challenges (some of which have been used in conjunction with these prompts).
I've written about Susan and Michael, the couple that never really quits fighting; Justin and Padma, the couple that starts out with a kiss and ends up (at least at the last point I have them) with twins; Ernie and Mandy, the couple that need to be seen a bit more; and Zach and Megan, the couple that I still can't seem to put the line between to officially make them a couple again. There's still Rose Zeller, the little first year at the time of Book 6 who wears thick glasses and has a slight fascination for a Gryffindor Herbology master; Wayne, the tall and silent Hufflepuff; and Laura, who never gets enough Hufflepuff love from me. These are the Hufflepuffs I write. Their lives are like this strange soap opera in my mind. All the time, I'm wondering how they're doing. No other characters have ever taken over my head like this before. Even when I'm not writing fanfiction, they creep into my stories.
I like the Ravenclaws. I admire the Gryffindors. I'm spending more time with the Slytherin and appreciating them more and more.
But I love the Hufflepuffs.
