Some of you may remember me talking about Mandie getting her hair cut to raise money for Kids with Cancer. She's a pediatric oncology nurse at St. Luke's in Boise and one of her "kids" was going to do the honors of cutting all her hair off on the 15th (coming up quick!).
A problem arose last week when Arianna's cancer resurfaced. She wouldn't be able to cut Mandie's hair because she'd be in Salt Lake getting a bone marrow transplant. Mandie was sad but, hey, maybe this would help!
Mandie called today to let us know that Arianna had died. She never made it to Salt Lake for that bone marrow transplant but she will be with Mandie next week in spirit.
If you'd like to sponser Mandie's "sheering" or would like to find out about an event in your area, visit St. Baldrick's (www.stbaldricks.org, I believe). You don't have to sponser Mandie because there might be someone in your area you might want to help out. But do think about sponsership! Mandie has lost too many of her kids!
Here is her page!
