Sick and tired of being sick and tired
Dec. 10th, 2008 07:00 pmThe whatever it is that I have is still around. Cold? I don't think so. Not the flu. Not really a sinus infection. It's the crud! I've been taking Sudafed but that hasn't really done anything but keeping me going (which is a good thing when all is said and done) so I moved back to an allergy tab today and that cleared up the runny nose. That was getting a bit too much! I was going to take out stock in Kleenex! Sucking on Cold-Eeze is helping the sore throat and I've been taking my share of Advil, as well.
So I should be getting well any time now...
The ski mountain opened today - one of the latest openings ever for the resort. The tourists will be here soon and then things can go back to normal! I can only hope!
Seeing Michael Chabon last night was soooo cool! He read two of his essays, "Second Skin" and one on feminist superheroes. They were both funny... even more so when he was reading them and putting in the right inflection on the jokes and funny bits. There were quite a few old people in the crowd because this is part of the Sun Valley Center of the Arts and the old people always come to that. Need to be seen at the right things, giving money to the right causes. Can't fault them for it because it's because of their money that he was there... but they could have been quiet! Kept asking stupid questions about the old days of comic books when I wanted to hear Michael talk about HIS comic book heroes!
The good part of the whole evening was the fact that I was SECOND in line to get my copy of "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay" signed. Would have been first but one of the old people cut in front of me to ask a stupid question about the guy who was a worm and spoke through a box hanging around his throat? Anyway, didn't remember to tell him that the book was one of the main reasons I did Script Frenzy this year. That would have been good to say but instead I told him how much I liked this book and "Summerland" which is my favorite of his books, actually. Can't go wrong with baseball and fairies!
Didn't go to work today. Stayed home and spent most of it on Neopets. Haven't been there in a year but it's December so I have to get my Advent items! It was fun to be mindless.
