A blustery day
Oct. 24th, 2009 01:24 pmToday is another blustery day. Not too bad. Just a reminder that Fall is here and Winter is on it's heels. I sort of like these days. Makes me want to have hot chocolate.
Currently watching the newest Stargate Universe on Hulu. I really like this series. It's so character driven. I already like the Stargate franchise and this is just another texture to the whole thing. Eli! I just want to hug him!
I'm halfway through the first Pendergast novel by Preston & Child. I've already read the third in the series *gasp* but didn't realize there was any sort of series to the thing. If you like horror (and I always said I didn't but I do - I really do!) and intense mysteries, you would really enjoy the Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child writing team. There's a bit too much science in this book but it's something that needs to be there so I just nod and try to understand.
Updated some of my icons (see the new Zooey one!). Need to add more as I haven't put the official NaNo icon for this year in my list. I've been away from work the last couple of days (not the flu, just didn't feel well) so I worked on the mundane task of finding faces for my NaNo characters. It's something I never would have thought to do before RPing but it really helps for me to have faces and characteristics to look at from time to time. I've also added some steampunk idea pictures to the document, as well. Since I'm still new to the idea, I need more help then normal with stuff like that. The process has definitely given me some good ideas. And Aster found me the face of the unnamed man that is going to wreck some havoc! Fun times!
My parents are at a funeral for a really nice lady who just died. She had been dealing with cancer for a very, very long time and just finally succumbed a week and a half ago. She was a teacher here which meant that she knew everyone and was well-loved. Since we weren't here for any of my schooling, I only knew her through my sister and my parents. I don't like going to funerals for people I know so I don't very often go to funerals for people I don't really know. I mourned her passing and rejoice in her life.
