Cause I need one more place to hang out

Okay, so I really need to finish the Percy Jackson books series before I attempt fanfic (as I have been schooled by cousins on just how much I DON'T know about upcoming storylines) but that leads me in the same direction that I have been before for other ideas... I can't find a decent community. There is the elite that fox_murphy mentioned this last week but I don't like elite communities. They scare me and I've been turned down (by a 14 year old, no less) for not being "deep enough" and yes, the scars are still there. Everything else that I've found is very, very sad. One had a recent mod post where she asked that people check their spelling and punctuation before posting stories (seriously?) and another had a mod who appeared to think that Nico was spelled Neko. The rest are mostly all about "SQUEE! WE'RE SO EXCITED ABOUT EVERYTHING PERCY AND HERE'S A PICTURE OF LOGAN GOING OUT FOR ICE CREAM!" posts.

So I feel as if I have three choices.

1) Strike out on my own and just write PJ stories for the sheer delight of being able to write tweeked Greek myth. I could post them at 5_prompts after all.

2) Make my own PJ fic-writing community.

3) Deal with it and finish the Elite application because we grow stronger the more we're shot down.

I've gotten spoiled lately. Whenever I go looking for something that I want to join, I eventually find at least ONE place that I can fit in. Of course, most of those fandoms have been more adult of late. It's hard being 36 who likes to read YA books and watches way too much Disney Channel. It does make me the favored cousin/aunt, though.

OMG... if I have to stay here with my cousins much longer, I'm going to hurt myself or the dog. They aren't doing anything but watching TV and playing on the computer but I'm hungry and the dog won't leave me alone. She does this pawing thing NON-STOP. She really wants to go outside but I won't let her because she just wants to bark at the neighbors. I guess I could let her but I wouldn't let my dog do that so why should I let her. The girls could care less what she's doing which is probably why she's bored.

Not to mention that I have housework and laundry that I need to do at my house. Grrrr...

On a lighter note, I got my prescription sunglasses today! Mom picked them up for me this week because they were in Twin Falls to pick up their new fridge. Hooray for being able to see in the sunlight! I'm so excited about having prescription sunglasses I don't think I can contain my excitement.

Okay, I have a handle on my excitement now.

Grrr... I'm still here at the house. Which is why I can post this because it means that I have internet access. Some things are not wonderful. Some things are irritating.

Part of my problem is the distinct lack of soda this weekend. And food. They're a glucose free family because of my youngest cousin. I feel for her, I really do. But sometimes I need real bread.

I have ideas. Lots and lots of ideas. See, this is what happens! I can't find an outlet and pretty soon I'm MAKING the outlet but it's no longer the size of a little small round thing with a couple of holes. No, it's a house. A freakin' huge house with rooms full of ideas.

We could all be in trouble, people. Big, big trouble.
