Today was a long day. This week was a long week. Nothing overtly bad. Just not a whole bunch of good. Not enough to outweigh the shitty. *sigh* I work tomorrow but then this week will be over and next week will start and I'll just hope for the best.

My Gramma was so funny today. She called me at work, on the work phone (such a big thing considering I had to put my phone on permanent silence because she kept calling me a work which is a huge No-No!), to tell me, "We get Starz free for a year!" The odd thing of this is that she used the term We, almost as if she is at her house, watching her TV. No, I'm still the only one at her house and the only one watching her TV. *grins* It was nice of her to call me, though. I've gone through the next five days and figured out all the movies I want to record. Not that I couldn't watch them on Netflix any time I wanted but... *grins* Oh, my funny Gramma.

I bought the Turbo Fire DVDs. You'll know the ones if you've spent any time flipping through the channels after midnight. So far I've done the first 20 minutes twice. Yes, I am that uncoordinated. The important thing is that I'm moving and I'm having fun. And when I'm done, I feel like I've exercised. I'm not looking for a major weight loss (although that would be fun, too) but just something to get me off my computer chair and MOVING.

Have you tried the Dulce de Leche cookies from Girl Scouts? So good!

7 days and 17 hours until I'm bald! Can't wait! Thank you to everyone who has donated so far! You guys are my shining stars! I finally donated on my brother-in-law so that his total would finally change. I don't think he's been doing nearly the talking about it that I have but this is his first year and Nicolas has been sick with RSV so his head is elsewhere. Oh well.

I know I said I wasn't going to join any other other Land Comms but I've joined [livejournal.com profile] farscapeland although it hasn't really started yet. I'm halfway through the first season and loving it! I bought the complete set of DVDs from Amazon last week so I'll be able to watch it quicker!

Wow... That newer Karate Kid movie is much more intense than the old one!

Now I need to go get my other internet responsibilities taken care of! Then I should think about folding the clothes. Ugh! I wish I could train Spencer to fold the clothes. It's the least she can do and you shouldn't really need opposable thumbs to do it, right?

And why doesn't my computer like OPPOSABLE? I looked it up. It's spelled right! Stupid computer.

I redid my layout! You can see it here. The background is one I found at [livejournal.com profile] scholarslayouts and it is SO BEAUTIFUL with my default icon! I made the header using a picture of Carla Gugino I found while wandering aimlessly tonight. The quote is from Rainer Maria Rilke who is just made of AWESOME!

If you can't see it well:

Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love. -RMR

Another one that I am trying to put into practice:

We need, in love, to practice only this: letting each other go. For holding on comes easily; we do not need to learn it. -RMR

And:

Let everything happen to you
Beauty and terror
Just keep going
No feeling is final
-RMR
