I'm going to recount my week.

Monday & Tuesday were normal days. I worked. I didn't sleep well. Nothing too new these days, especially with a vacation hanging in the balance. I washed clothes, packed and repacked and repacked again. I did the dishes. I cleaned house... sort of. It was all pretty lonely because Spencer stayed at Mom & Dad's house since I wouldn't be able to get her there easily. You never realize just how full your life because of your dog until you don't have her!

Wednesday it rained. Oh golly, did it rain. I worked until mid-day and it was so slow they let me go a little earlier than I'd planned. I got into my car and drove to my sister's house in Boise. Got to spend about an hour with my nephew before he went to bed. He's getting SO CUTE! He's starting to talk a lot better and he's just so cute in what he does.

Early Thursday, I arrived at the Boise airport, ready to start my vacation. There was a slight malfunction with the airplane and they'd flown people in to fix it the night before. Our flight was at 0745 but they had the plane fixed by 0730. Easy peasy... right? Should have been. No one bothered to tell the FLIGHT CREW that their slight delay wasn't really a delay. We didn't got off the ground until OH NINE FIFTEEN! That meant that the hour I was to have on the ground in Salt Lake was toast but they were going to make it all up by putting me on the next flight out... at FIVE PM! That would bring me into BWI at 2330 (11:30pm). Not the greatest but it was getting me where I wanted to be. When I got on the ground in SLC, they'd switched me to a flight headed toward JKF. Yes, New York City. Not Baltimore but it was the East Coast. An hour on the ground at JFK and then onto Baltimore at around 2100 (9pm). As soon as I got to Aster's house, it was time for bed!

Friday the weather was nice. I wasn't quite prepared for this sort of warmth since it's getting a bit Fall"ish" at home. Aster and I headed into Baltimore and I got to see the BIGGEST Barnes&Noble I've ever seen. So pretty! Then we went to Panera for lunch and walked around. It was cool to see the USS Constellation and other boats in the Inner Harbor. Also picked up quite a few brochures about things there are to do in Baltimore... for next time. After school let out, we went to get her daughter and then went for pedicures. I had the best leg massage I've ever had! BBQ'd hamburgers at home that night. Very nice day!

Saturday, we started with a nice massage. I've never had one before so it was an experiment. A wonderful one, for sure. Later that day, it was time to head into DC for Les Mis at the Kennedy Center. We got dinner up at the Cafe on the roof and it was expensive but I loved it. The sandwich was so good! I'm deciding I'm as much a bread snob as I am a cheese snob! The performance was soooo good! We had really great seats on the main level and because I'm so tall (well, taller than Aster), I had unrestricted viewing! Got a retweet from the guy who places Marius. I may start following him because he's leaving the production at the end of DC to go play the Beast! Very cool! They had a new screen that they used so that it didn't matter that the stage was so small. It didn't matter to me because I've never seen it and I'm only there for the music but Aster was a bit discomfited by it.

Today (Sunday), we all slept in (although I was the first up which is odd because I'm the one not so used to this time zone but that just tells you how late it was!) and then went for lunch at the Ram's Head at Savage Mill. We were planning on going to the Farmer's Market there but there wasn't anything but apples so we just wandered through Curmudgeon's Books which is such a cool place. They overflow their little area so they have bookshelves out in the mall itself... and if you want a book when they're closed, they have little envelopes you can put the money in and drop off! I only bought a few books... $33 worth. But I only used 22 of my 50 lbs allowed on my bag so I'm good. *grins* So we went and got some very expensive blackberries at a normal grocery store and made some blackberry jam. Hope it turns out okay! The apples at the Farmer's Market were interesting varieties that I've never had before. Might have to check into getting a few of them just to eat so I have the experience of them!

Tomorrow we're headed into DC once again. I definitely want to go to Arlington and then it's either National Portrait Gallery or the National Zoo. Is there a National Used Book store? *grins* Just kidding. Can't wait!
