My
sga_santa fic is kind of running away from me. In a good way! It's just turning into this MONSTER of a fic! I'm at something like 8000 words and I've only just found the first "hook" of the story. But I'm loving it so much because it's really letting me delve into a story line that I've wanted to write for some time. I can't let it get in the way of other stuff, though. It's definitely time to graph out what needs to be done and when. I'm trying to be very good at only biting off more than I can chew but the land comms are making that really difficult right now. I don't want to let my team down!
Right now, I'm reading
The Woodcutter by Kate Danley (I felt the need to clarify as there is another
The Woodcutter book out that is very similar and which I also want to read) on my Kindle right now and IT IS AWESOME! I got it for $0.99 so I was a little skeptical but I would have paid a lot more for it. Well, no, I suppose I wouldn't have. But I would now! Definitely give this one another look and consider buying it. I'm not done so I'll try to remember to post more about it then.
I'm enjoying all these twists on classic fairy tales! It makes me sad that Dani Marie is eight and her only knowledge of fairy tales is Disney. The only fairy she knows about is Tinker Bell. When I was her age, I was EATING UP the original fairy tales. I loved them! They were dark and twisted and I could read them because they were classics - I always felt like I was pulling a fast one!
Okay, it's back to work for me. Ta!
