I burned the roof of my mouth... AGAIN!

Last night and today, it snowed THIRTY INCHES up on the mountain so all the snow bunnies are beside themselves that there was a powder day so late in the season. I was just happy that it was mostly rain in the valley. Not right now, though. We have snow. More snow that I like to think about out there. I can't see any of my lovely, yellow grass. *sigh* I've GOT to move somewhere that doesn't have six months of winter. This is KILLING ME.

I'm stuck in a Boyce Avenue loop over at youtube tonight while I try to find an ending for my [livejournal.com profile] scifiland light/dark fic. I have enough words but I'm debating if I want to take it a little further or if I want to keep it here. This is the beginning of my Ronon/Teyla 'verse and I'm enjoying rewriting the daxiang baozhashi de la duzi that is Season 5.

The above verbage might give it away but I've started reading Firefly fic in between my SGA reading. So many of my friends have written deliciously long fics but they aren't on AO3 so I have to work harder to get them on the Kindle. Because I'm in desperate need of updating my Mac OS, I don't have the software needed to convert them on the Mac and never remember to do it when I'm on the netbook. Maybe next weekend...

All that to say that I will be getting to those fics but not right away. And if you want an AO3 invite, I still have one. Time and energy well spent to get set up on that system!

I have an ivy plant that I bought when I first moved back home that was in the bathroom at Mom and Dad's house until a couple of weekends ago. The cat tried one too many times to jump up on the shelf that it was on and it fell. Since I had repot it, I brought it back with me and it now resides on the corner of my writing desk. I forgot just how much I love watching ivy grow. They are so.. resilient! And find such interesting ways of growing.

It's sad that I have favorites upon the plants. I don't like all the plants here at Gramma's. They wouldn't be the kind that I would have purchased. They came with the house and I'm expected to keep them alive. Bah!

I've come to the conclusion that my mother and her brothers are hoping that I will pack up Gramma's stuff and more or less move into the house. They've been telling me as much for the last year but it dawned on me why... they can't sell the house at this time because the market is crappy so it works out well for them for me to be here. Gramma isn't going to be moving back any time soon (or at all) and so it stands to reason that if I pack up all Gramma's stuff and move my stuff in, when I move out... the house will be empty. They're trying to get me to do all the dirty work! For over a year now, I've been living "around" Gramma's stuff. I'm getting so tired of just existing. It's time I "move in" and treat this like my house for a bit.

Have you ever cleaned with CLR? It smells like... kool-aid? Is it kool-aid? It's a delightful scent. I'm going to have to use it more often.

Now, for your moment of zen.

I'm really enjoying the live and acoustic show as well as the official song and lyric playlists! I wish I was closer to where they're going on their tour because I think it would be a kick to see them in person!

We don't have the same kind or winter y'all do here in Western Washington, but our 9 month "overcast" season is pretty depressing. I don't mind it when we're cooling down out of the heat of our short summers, but about month seven, I'm frustrated/depressed/antsy to see sunshine.

The nice thing about having "weather" is that the storm systems usually move through pretty quickly unless they're piling up on each other so we don't get a lot of dreary between the systems. This time of year, the snow doesn't stick around for very long but it is hard to take after having nice weather (we almost got up to 50 there for a bit!) but it chases away the dark clouds. Right now we have some glorious sun! Here's hoping it chases the snow away from my yard!

I see that our Wednesday weather system is hitting you guys today, though. You can keep as much of it as you want!

Yeah, when our storms move past, there's always another one coming off the Pacific right behind it. Though! We got an unexpected day of sunshine last Saturday and it DID hit 50 degrees! I even had my sky-roof thingy open in my car!
