I went and saw the new X-Men movie yesterday - mostly because so many of you were talking about it! I figured it was worth the money! Most everyone else seems to be fully on board with Xavier/Erik but what about Havok/Darwin????? Oh, that look he gave him right as he was going to explode? Loved it. Oh, Edi. You've got me loving just about everything you do. These movies really make me want to read the comics... although I can usually find out more information from the internet so I don't really need to BUT I want to!
Pixie, the netbook, is not working the way it should and I'm really thinking of just finishing cleaning it all off and just selling it. I can easily get $50 out of it which is pretty good for as old as this is. I don't really need a laptop anymore now that I have such good internet and come home at lunch. Later, if I want one again, I can buy one. It mostly just irritates me that it's not working.
The weather was SO EXCELLENT today. I helped Mom weed after church and then had a long conversation with DM about fairies. Her story is about fairies but her sole, 8-year old knowledge base is the Tinker Bell books, which she loves. I told her to check a fairy tale book from the library this summer and see all the different types of fairies that are out there. It was funny talking to her about it because she'd keep saying, "But fairies aren't real." I forget sometimes that I can sound like I believe in these things. *grins* For a 8-year old, the girl is a great writer. We talked about how she needs to SLOW DOWN and SHOW WHAT IS IN HER HEAD. When I said, "Cause you have a movie of what you want to write in your head, right?" She nodded and smiled. Because she does. She understands. She can see the story in her head. We also talked about paragraphs (do they not teach that in second grade?) and how I have the crappiest handwriting ever. With my luck, she'll be able to read even my bad script (because I am trying to write nicely for her) soon and then maybe she'll learn how to type and I'll have someone who can type my notebooks for me! Well, that's a dream. No one can read that cat scratch that comes out when I'm writing quickly. Not even me!
The other D (DJ) will be a challenge. She's not a writer but she has a great imagination. If I can teach her some skills, I think she can have fun with it. I hope. Her mom is sort of pushing her into it which I don't like at all but I can't do something with one D and not the other. They're sort of a package deal, what with being near the same age and being around my family enough that they hear about what the other is doing. I have to be fair!
Funny thing that I saw the other day at the movie theater. They still have their big ol' bag of ice melt right by the front door. I wonder if they know something the rest of us should know...

Date: 2011-06-07 04:12 am (UTC)From:I was always able to decipher the vast majority of your chicken scratch. Maybe you just need the scan the pages to me and I can type them in my spare time. Although, I never seem to have much of that anymore...

Date: 2011-06-08 04:50 am (UTC)From:The problem always seems to be that the people who can read my handwriting are either not in the area or not available when I need them! It's becoming a problem! I keep thinking that I can solve this by HIRING someone. They'd have to do it because I was paying them money!
