Title: Completely up to Chance
Characters: Ravenclaw boys

“Anyone seen my robe?” Michael hollered front underneath this bed. Anthony and Terry smirked at each other but kept quiet. “Seriously, guys. This isn’t funny. I laid out my new robe last night and now it’s gone.”

“And you think it crawled under the bed?” Stephen asked, tying his shoes and ignoring “the boys” as they were quickly becoming known as. If Terry and Anthony had decided to teach Michael a lesson, he wasn’t going to get in their way. The guy was a pig. They’d all been in school for a week and it was already evident that no one had taught Michael how to care for his own clothes. If the food didn’t appear in front of them every meal, he was afraid Michael might never have eaten.

Dust covered Michael’s shirtfront and a good bit of his hair as he slithered out. “It could be anywhere because it’s not here. I’m telling you-“

“Maybe you hung it up,” Terry mentioned casually as he exited the room, right behind Anthony.

“Well?” Stephen demanded as Michael stood in front of the cupboard. “I care way too much about whether you found your robe so tell me if it’s there and put me out of my misery.”

The robe now sported a bright pink streak down the back. It came off easily with a simple spell but Michael’s mouth was set in a thin line as he put it on. Someday… somehow… those boys would be sorry they messed with him.

“I’m missing my quill. It was right here,” Terry murmured as he leaned back in his chair. “Lend me one, Anthony?”

There was a moment of strained silence as Anthony searched through his bag only to find that, after he sat up, his quill had disappeared as well. “I don’t think I can help you. All mine are gone.”

Terry blinked, his face draining of all color. “But you always have extra. Where are they at?” Anthony didn’t have time to shrug.

“Is there are problem over here?” Professor Snape asked as he stood behind Anthony, his hand firmly on the boy’s shoulder.

“I… we… there…” Terry stammered.

Since it was rude to watch fellow Ravenclaws struggle, Michael chose to look the other way, gleefully smiling to himself as the boys were granted permission to go back to their room for the quills they couldn’t seem to locate. The points that the House lost were well worth it.

They each found a note on their pillow. Now that’s just ironic, isn’t it? Both of you loosing your quills? For each thing I misplace, you misplace two. Care to chance it?
