I finally got around to coming up with a Synopsis and a Excerpt for the NaNoWriMo site and thought I'd share it. I just love that I've been able to weave the title in several places. It's more important than I thought it would be when I first came up with it. Still HATE the names but they're growing on me.

Synopsis: Broken Wolf

Carese has spent years running from what she had been told was her destiny, her heart full of guilt for her betrayal of her mate and their plans for the future. When she becomes a caregiver to a pup that wandered into her life, things suddenly change. Not only is she forced to go back to the town she grew up in all those years ago but she finds that many of her assumptions are wrong. Some of answers she's uncovering are uncomfortable to deal with but some are downright deadly.

Excerpt: Broken Wolf

Carese struggled to figure out what these test results meant in the real world. "So.. she's always on alert?"

"Or, more to the point, her system is wired differently than other pups. Several of the test show that she's the same as the others but decidedly different in key areas."

"Genetically?"

Nodding, Ayerton, pulled out a different folder he'd been holding close to his chest. "One other pup has been brought in that ranks the same as Rue. He was put through the tests twice, a year apart from each other. Nothing changed between them so we've assumed these are typical. We don't know where to find more of the pups like this one and Rue so these are our only samples."

Many of the results were very similar, although even Carese could see the differences between them based on gender. This male subject was faster but smaller. She double-checked the data to make sure that she was seeing everything correctly.

"He was older than Rue in these test but he's smaller than she is. That's unnatural in a wolf."

There was approval in his eyes at her attention to the finer details. "It is very unnatural for a male to be smaller but he appears to be bred for speed. All his gene sequences, every single one, are finely tuned for that one specific trait."

A sense of horror began to creep into this new understanding she had of what Rue was. "She's not broken," she whispered, sinking to the carpet next to the desk. Her legs no longer appeared to be able to hold her up. "She's been manufactured. For what? Can you tell?"

He held up Rue's folder and tapped on a single sentence as he read it out loud. "The subject appears to rank in the highest percentile in tracking."

Title: 2/2: Not Everyone is Small in the Small World

Author’s Note: I visited Disneyland this week. When I mentioned writing about Ronon being at the park, both thebiggest_lie and ru_salki99 thought it would be amusing if he rode It’s a Small World. I thought so, too. The little boy with the blue mouth is a real person who assured his mother, while in line for the train around the park, that the train would come if they were patient. “Remember, Mama?” We all got a good laugh about that.

I was really hoping to post the second part of this (and if it doesn't end soon, there might be three parts to this story) tonight but it won't be happening. I kinda need to get to sleep. Hopefully it'll be up on Monday when I get back home!

I do like the character input he gave me on her, though. That was helpful!

He’s not the one to blame but she harbors a bit of resentment that he doesn’t seem her the way he used to.

Quinn and Cam are both characters dreamed up for a dueling RP (two people writing back and forth) and have very extensive backgrounds. This was something new that I thought I’d play around with. You don't need to have any background on any of the characters to read this and, I hope, enjoy it.
