Today was a series of stressful events... starting with WAKING UP. Started the day off with a headache which is pretty normal and will continue to be until I get my new glasses! Can't wait!!!!
Get to work only to discover that the toner is getting very very very light on the printer. As the thing is our lifeblood that prints out EVERY SINGLE PRESCRIPTION LABEL I was stressing the arrival of the UPS guy. He came and I ripped the thing open. I usually order one toner cartridge at a time but had forgotten to order one last time so had made up for lost time by ordering two.
Let me recount my day to you...
~Open number 1, put it in.
~Set number 2 in the supply area of the closet.
~Check out number 1 and notice that it's dragging toner around on the paper.
~Open up printer to find that a small amount of toner is coming out of cartridge RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of the printer... not over on the side like these POSs usually do.
~Clean up the mess and wash my hands.
~Print out a couple more order.
~Toner globs are back.
~Clean up the mess and wash my hands.
~Do some other random work.
~Get really irritated with the mess and decide to switch it out because it's the worst I've ever seen it.
~No toner mess in the packing of the number 2 so I sigh with relief.
~Realize that number 2 is also making a mess although not as big of one.
~Clean up the mess and wash my hands.
~Eat lunch so I can take something for my headache.
~Call the company that sent us the toner and oh, so politely explain the situation and arrange to get new toner sent out ASAP.
~Realize that we are fast running out of Toner Cloth Wipes and find a place online that can sell us some for pretty cheap.
~Clean up toner mess and wash my hands.
~Get the corporate card from boss to buy the TCWs and explain situation.
~Clean up toner mess and wash my hands.
~Order TCWs.
~Take a phone call from the lady at the toner company as she tries to explain how I've probably done something wrong and when I politely tell her that I've done NOTHING wrong and that no, it's not UPS either because the box is nearly brand new looking even after coming from across the country but thanks for trying.
~Clean up toner mess and wash hands.
~Look in vain for some lotion that will stop my hands from the chapped they are becoming.
~Decide to go see if the UPS guy picked up the OLD toner cartridge that I put out for pickup back to the company for recycling.
~Do a dance because IT'S STILL THERE!
~Change out number 2 for old cartridge.
~Wash my hands.
~LEAVE WORK
Yes, that was almost literally my day. There were various things that I had to put up with because coworker seemed to get dumber as the printer stopped working properly. Are the two linked? Probably.
Working on a couple of stories, as always. Also have trusty iPod out tonight while sitting at the library. Can't handle much stimulus so I'm listening to my David Lanz collection. Beautiful and it doesn't hurt my head!!!!
Reading the second Midnighters book by Scott Westerfeld. Loving it as much as the first! Must eventually start the second Percy Jackson book as the first movie comes out THIS WEEK! Hooray!
