I got my invite to my 20 yr class reunion tonight... and I think it would put me in financial ruin if I was going to go to the whole thing.
There is a Friday night event that is up at the resort. Dressy attire, of course. It costs $65 per person.
There is a picnic on Saturday at a local park. They want me to buy a commemorative picnic blanket for $45 and the cost is $20 for adults and $10 for children.
There is a Saturday night out at a local bar (an institution for most of the kids I went to school with, I'm sure) that is has a $5 cover charge. It sounds like they're trying to make it an open bar that is sponsered by local businesses. Yeah... hanging out with classmates while they're drinking! Fun times!
Not only that but they blocked a bunch of rooms at the SUN VALLEY INN. I can barely afford to walk into that place, even without staying there! Rates START at $179. ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY NINE DOLLARS FOR ONE NIGHT... IF YOU'RE LUCKY.
How many people from my class are rolling in money these days?
The real issue is that we knew that our student body president was a prick when we elected her. Now we have to deal with it for the rest of our lives. Well, only every ten years.
Also, I should point out that a person such as myself (with a vivid imagination) should not watch Can't Buy Me Love for the six thousandth time right before getting said invitation.
