I took Rory to the vet today and I think she's not speaking to me any longer! This morning she was staying completely off the leg but it wasn't more swollen. Since I had to work and her appointment wasn't until afternoon and my house is nearly 45 minutes away from the vet, they let her stay there for the day. When I got there, she was walking on the foot again! Turns out, it was an abscess and it had started draining while she was there so all they had to do was clean it out (that did not make her happy!) and give her an injection of antibiotics. I didn't care about the shot costing more than the liquid because I didn't think she was going to let me give her the meds for 7-10 days!

She must be feeling better (or she's still angry) because she's not hanging out near me like she has been the last few days. I spoke too soon. Guess she's not that angry because she wants some attention. She's still stress shedding. Lovely.

Animals get over betrayal pretty quick. Lol. Glad they found the problem! Our hospital favors the injection of antibiotics too since most prefer not to give the meds themselves, very few are successful!!!!

Now if my pet got sick I'd be stuck with the meds. I have to do everything the hard way. Lol

I'm not normally a person who jumps on the injection bandwagon (I hate it myself so why make the animal suffer?) but I was all over it when she asked which I wanted. I figured she'd appreciate being messed with once and then being left alone! Rory's like her mama that way!

I still find it funny that we both have a pet named Rory! :-D

Yeah, I agree! Injections suck. My Rory is def not a fan, but it's worth it in the end! Less work for you, and less stress for her!

My Rory is "slightly" named after Rory on Doctor Who but mostly for Aurora. But also because I love the name and it's different from my dog's name (Spencer) enough that they won't get confused on who is calling them. The cat was almost named "Diamond" or "Cinderella" because I let some of the Littles help me pick the name but I decided to overrule them this time around with the codicil that they can help name the next animal I get.

I used to have a needle phobia like WOAH but being a Dog Mommy went a long way in helping me. I almost fainted at Spencer's baby shots (nearly nine years ago now) but she was so calm about them and didn't cry or anything so I got much more calm about them. Animals are amazing!
