The State of the Writing - Summer Ediition

First, have you seen the RESULTS FOR THE 2013 SATURN AWARDS?????? Check it out! I think a good majority of my FL will find the list interesting!

I want to sign up for the 2013 polybigbang. The rough draft is due in October... I think. So I could finish the two big bangs I have in the works.

I already have one "no" from enigma731 and I know Aster will narrow her eyes at me. Anyone else want to talk me out of it?

There's the Clint/Natasha/Bruce story that I've been aching to write for awhile. I'd love to try some version of Clint/Bobbi/Kate that came up when I was writing my random Kate stories. Um, what are my other ideas? My DCBigBang is Oliver/Felicity but there are also some Oliver/Felicity/Diggle feelings tugging at my heart. It would be an interesting time to try a crossover or some other AU. I started reading a John/Cam/Ronon story the other night that had me thinking of ideas.

It would be the third bang of the year and the year that I wrote that many, I had to take a lot more time away from the words. No one ever said I had to do these stories as a bang but I do appreciate the deadlines. I could use the ideas for my big story prompt table.

There are also stories to be written (and then read) for the be_compromised 2013 Promptathon that started prompting this week. I've flagged a bunch of them. Okay, it's like half. Since DCBang is at 4200 (I made my word count yesterday!), I feel better about writing a few stories this week. And then there's finishing up the TV_universe big bang type thing. I only HAVE to get to 50 points and I made some sig tags to pad out the stories that I get done or don't get done in time. There's other stuff, of course, but I can't remember it. Oh well! You win some... you go home early for the rest.

I suppose I should be a responsible friend and tell you "no" too... What's the word count/deadline on the one you're doing now already?

I signed up for both the DC Big Bang and the Marvel Big Bang and they're both 10k and the rough drafts for both are due August 28 (can you tell they're run by the same group?).

I sort of started a few more sections but they got weird and that's saying something since it's already sort of weird!

I've been drawn to OT3 lately! It's so easy with all my favorites! If you have any stray ideas sitting around that your muse can't use, let me know!

That said, I don't so much have any plots hanging around? Just... I want all the feels, and these 'ships just happen to be right where I'm at right now. :D

The ships that just happen to be where you are make the best ships because you never have to reach for the voices or even, sometimes, the ideas. It's all right there, at your fingertips!

While I've never written a blatant OT3, if Bruce is in any of my Clint/Natasha stories, there is an underlying OT3 going on in my head. I don't know if that comes across to the reader but I always write their interaction as if they're a relationship and Bruce just isn't a main player in this particular story.

I'm ready to start writing all three people with equal billing!

You know what I keep almost but not quite writing? Or rather, what I keep writing as an almost-but-not-quite 'ship? Clint, Nat, and Tony. Because Nat and Tony are WAY too much alike, and both irritate and like to irritate the flying fool out of one another, and it just amuses the hell out of Clint, I don't even know.

I've never given much thought to Natasha/Tony because of the reasoning you gave there. HOWEVER... if you add Clint to the mix, it's a pretty fun idea for a relationship! He is the glue that holds it all together! That makes the three of them make sense! That keeps the other two from killing each other! And Clint would be doing EXACTLY that gif most of the time!

I have this weird moment on my harddrive, where Steve keeps seeing Natasha and Tony flirting with one another (and Tony is always giving her gifts, often fancy and/or expensive because he doesn't think about the cost of things being an issue, and Natasha is one of the best people he's ever met about receiving gifts) - it's completely not a thing between them, because T & N know they'd tear each other up (their other relationships aside) if they ever went there. They know they're *too* alike, you know?)

But they flirt, and they bicker, and he gives her gifts, and Steve gets worried and tries to take Clint out for beers to talk about it, and Clint nearly spits his beer out all over the table because he's laughing so hard when he figures out what Steve's worried about.

Because my headcanon Clint is like the least jealous person on the planet.

And I love that Clint is so laid back about his relationships. It shows that he feels safe! I love that!
