6. Where are you most comfortable writing? At what time of day? Computer or good ol' pen and paper?
I write as well at the computer as I do on the couch. The trouble with writing with pen and paper is that my thoughts aren't as coherent as they are when I'm typing. It's also a PAIN to retype but it is a good way of editing.
I've got a problem with buying notebooks, though. The prettier, the better. This time of year, I shouldn't be allowed in a paper goods supply store. The only other thing that I buy this compulsively are pens. It's a disease. Some of them are so pretty that I have a hard time writing in them so I've decided that the pretty ones get their own story to be written in it. This hasn't filled up a notebook yet but I'm hoping that someday it does.
Okay, back to the questions.
I like to write at night because I'm a night owl but I write better in the early afternoon. If I could get a job with a three hour lunch hour, I could get a lot more written! It helps if I can carve out a large section of time WITHOUT TV and the INTERNET. Yeah, that doesn't happen very often but that just makes it all the more precious when it does.
My favorite place that I've ever written would have to be this really cool park near where I used to live. I went there with my notebook and sat by the pond and watched ducks. It's hard for me to write outside, though. I get distracted by nature's beauty. I can PLOT outside like no one's business! Back in my RPG days, I would go out on my little balcony (loved that balcony) when I had a plot conundrum and stare at the stars. It comforted me to be outside so I was able to get a different look at the problem. I also plot while driving. I have a 40 minute drive to and from my parents' house so I get plenty of plotting time on the weekends.
