An end of an Era
Sep. 7th, 2007 04:11 pmFirst saw this news courtesy of
sartorias who linked to a post by
curtana that is especially beautiful.
Madeleine L'Engle died yesterday. She was 88. I came late to her work and had assumed that she had already died until I wikied her a couple of years ago and was surprised to discover that she was still alive.
I think her most pivital work for me will always be Walking on Water because it has never failed to inspire me to write whenever I pick it up. Just see the cover makes me want to pick up a pen. I've been starting to collect her books so I'll have my very own L'Engle collection.
She will be missed by multiple generations of readers now and to come.
