The last of the fest fics was submitted this week so I've taken a few more. [livejournal.com profile] angelic_bigbang is going to an original and it works out really well with some of the idea I already had for a story. Hooray! The second is at [livejournal.com profile] mwpp_mischief and I'm excited about the prompt. Here's hoping I get the prompt I chose! I'm contemplating [livejournal.com profile] journeystory which is a big bang centered around a story about travelling. I don't have an idea for that one, though. Since it's around the same time as the Angel BB, I think I'll just stick to one.

It is so hot today that I've changed clothes four times. It would have only been three but I realized that I needed to go shopping so I had to put real clothes back on. I think I'm going back to my "hanging around the house" outfit because it's cooler. IT'S HOT HERE! Whoo-hoo! I thought it would never happen!

In those boxes (and boxes and boxes and boxes and boxes) of books, I have discovered what I believe is a COMPLETE SET of Lawrence Sanders books. No I can finish the McNally series! There is also what might be a complete set of Robert Ludlum and Sandra Brown! Also some Margaret Truman that I haven't read as well as some PG Wodehouse! I've only nabbed six books for myself so that's pretty good.

I've started yet another Richelle Mead first... this time it's Storm Born, the first of the Dark Swan series. I thought I had more Succubus books but I think I decided to wait to see if I liked them before I bought the rest. I guess I'll be buying them soon!

Are you as tired of eating salads as I am? I've taken to eating "raw veggies" but they fall off my sandwiches when I try to change things up.

So I came up with something different tonight as I stared into my fridge.

Roughly chop cabbage (I don't think lettuce would stand up to this technique), tomato, cucumber, carrots, cilantro (I like the sweet kick it gives) and part of a jalepeno. I also threw in some mango because I had part of one. You could also do avocado but I forgot to pick one up.

Put into a food processor and pulse until everything is tiny but not liquid.

Add some malt vinegar (or red wine vinegar or rice wine vingar) and some lemon pepper (or regular pepper).

I'm not sure how this is going to keep in the fridge so I took out enough for my sandwich and added some greek yogurt and a little bit of poppyseed dressing (for a little more sweetness). Spread on a sandwich roll, add some cheese and the meat of your choice (I'm doing turkey and roast beef and they're just the cheap kind).

Enjoy it while getting (at least) a serving of vegetables!
