After work today (because I do love working Saturdays!), I came home and made three discoveries:

1) We didn't have as much onion as I thought we did in the fridge.

2) We no longer get BBC America.

3) I want to write a post-Apocalyptic Avengers story so I can use the idea of "We may not be able to save the earth but you can be damn well sure we'll Avenge it." in a story.

To compensate for the first dilemma, I had to use onion salt in the Peach Barbecue Sauce (yes, it's a thing now!). Won't break my heart since I really, really hate onions. I'll cook with them, sure, but I'd rather not if I can handle it. The recipe turned out to be super easy and I ended up just doing a rough chop of everything and then putting it through the blender! It was decided that we would can it tomorrow so it's doing a "wait overnight" in the fridge.

To compensate for the second dilemma, I just sunk myself further into [livejournal.com profile] be_compromised instead of being too sad that I could see the new Doctor Who. If nothing else, it's THE MAIN REASON to get my stupid butt in gear and send out the resume. There are a lot of reasons, yes, but none of them have made me actually SEND IT OUT. I almost feel like I need to wait. For all the reasons that I want to move, it doesn't feel right yet.

To compensate for the third dilemma... well, I was too tired to write anything today. Between the chopping and stirring and tasting of the first and the reading and replying and prettifying of the second, there wasn't a lot of energy left over for the third.

BUT (and this is a big one) I beat my mom and my sister ONCE at Ticket to Ride tonight (out of 4, I should add). That's pretty big considering I don't think I've won in WEEKS. *sigh* My game mojo has left me... I bet it bought a train ticket. *cackles with glee*

This morning, my Tumblr is an explosion of Teen Wolf (no surprise... but I still don't know why I haven't succumbed to what everyone else sees but I didn't enjoy the first half of the first season and just haven't gotten back into it) and, here's the surprise, Inception. And the Inception stuff is not necessarily coming from the Inception people I expected it to come from. Have I missed something? Is a new movie scheduled? Is it just the right day for Inception stuff? Do I not get on enough to see that there are certain Inception times of day?

[livejournal.com profile] _samalander reblogged this and OH MY GAWD THE FEELS! (There are pictures, too, but I'm lazy this morning)

“You cowboy around with the Avengers some. Guys got what, armor, magic, super-powers. Super Strength. Shrink-dust. Grow-rays. Magic. Healing factors. I’m an orphan raised by carnies. Fighting with a stick and a string from the paleolithic era.”

-Hawkeye by Matt Fraction and David Aja

I haven't written for a couple of days. Not really. Not staring at my screen so much that my eyes start to get all wonky and I start blinking like I'm telegraphing a super secret message in morse code. Not with my muse sitting on my shoulder, screaming words into my ear. Not typing so fast that I miss stupid little words but I can't slow down because the ideas are piling up on themselves.

Without those feelings, I feel lost. Incomplete. Half of a person. Not even a person. What is my purpose on this earth if not to write? To connect on some level with someone else through the written word. To create something that didn't exist the moment before.

Being on Tumblr amplifies those feelings and this is NOT the time for me to be aching to write even more than usual. NOT THE TIME.

Today is the day that the [livejournal.com profile] spook_me super secret prompts come out. I'm super excited! And next week may be when the [livejournal.com profile] be_compromised Secret Santa prompting starts. So many new possibilities!

New TV shows are starting this coming week and the next! The thing that I love most of all in the world about my birthday is that I get new TV shows as like a really cool birthday present! It physically hurts me that I don't watch as much TV as I used to but I need to be better about turning on Hulu or Netflix and watching because it's weird not to be caught up. And now I'm remembering all over again that we don't have BBC America. It's enough to make me want to go make friends with people who have more channels than we do on their cable.

I could stand out on the corner with a cardboard sign that says Will Be Your Friend For Fall TV. It could work.

This makes me wonder what would happen if Jeremy ever read some of the WOMAN memes. *giggles*
