That and the fact the average person doesn't need to know more than coin counting and basic geometry and you got yourself a good case there. I hate the argument that kids need time to know what they want to be later on and need all this math stuff they can get well into high school. Um, no. Kids who are inclined to enjoy the math thing tend to figure that out pretty early on. Late bloomers seems to be what is few and far between and can always pick it back up in college should they wish.

I held out as a late bloomer until my last year of high school when I finally figured out I wasn't flowering and subsequently tested out of math in college and have been free since. Now the only math I wish I knew involves space flight because of this f&%$#'n book I'm trying to write.
