Picture, if you will, a street.

Okay, so I have a question about placement of people on this street. There are four "groups" that live on this street. Let's call them A, B, C and D.

A and B get along well. C and D get along well. A and C don't get along. B and D don't get along.

There is a sort of "barrier" that separates the block into four parts. Like a park that is sort of neutral territory.

So... should I put the "likes" across the street from each other or on the same side? There is a different sort of tension with either option so really, I'm asking what tension sounds more enjoyable? Seeing each other out the front windows and sort of toeing an invisible line down the middle of the street or dividing the middle/neutral ground up into sections?

A and C are probably next door neighbors. They share a fence and one of them probably has dogs that continuously get into the other yard, regardless of how many times the neighbor who doesn't technically own the fence tries to repair it.

Oh wait. That's MY relationship with my neighbor. My bad! ;) (but it could still work for you...)

I do like that sort of "don't look now but guess what they're doing to ruin this neighborhood" tension that can erupt from non-likes living in close proximity!

And they could also be the sort of people who know the grass couldn't POSSIBLY be greener on the other side of the fence, because really - who would have greener grass than they do?

I personally think it would be fun to have those who don't get along well with each other on the same side of the street. I'm a sucker for humourous arguments. x)
