I think January should be Read-A-Book month. After the lack of reading in my life lately, I think it should be Read-A-Lot-Of-Books month. What do you say? You in it with me? Doesn't matter the amount of pages in the book or whether it's on an e-reader. You just have to read books. Lots and lots of books.

Every week we can post what books we read and what we're planning on reading next. It doesn't matter if we're reading the same thing because it's not like we're sharing the books or anything!

I wanted to make little banners for this idea but I'm having trouble downloading things right now. Seems I've listened to a tad too much Spotify because I'm down to only a few bars of internet signal for the rest of the month. Just a few days but it's always a bummer because I have to limit what I do. Guess Spotify isn't as great as I thought it was!

For the next 13 days, I need to work on the rest of the Angelic Big Bang and all the edits it needs. Also, I need to edit the [livejournal.com profile] sga_santa story AND the [livejournal.com profile] sg_flyboy story that I finished yesterday. It's about buckling down and getting it done! The Flyboy story isn't due until January 8th but I opened up a document this weekend and the first sentence out was the exact one I needed for that story. I have to admit that I like John/Cam very, very much. This is an AU and I got to spread my wings with them a bit. It was lovely.

That leaves my Big Bang for [livejournal.com profile] farscape_land, gift giving for [livejournal.com profile] onceuponaland that I haven't gotten the parameters for yet, and my small fandom big bang (B gave me the idea for this one and I'M STOKED to write it). While the small fandom isn't due until March, I'd like to get a handle on it by the end of January.

While I feel a little apprehensive about this list, especially when I'm not feeling like writing, I'm also excited because it's very diverse. Variety is the spice of life! I'm looking forward to getting to write some smaller stuff, like the stories for the Atlantis Bingo card. I also wrote something for [livejournal.com profile] sga_saturday and I want to write more of those. I've been SUPER LAZY about that comm because I don't remember about it until they give the prompt and then I feel sort of stupid being the first one to post. Gotta just write, though. Someone's got to be first. Might as well be me!

And let me know about the RALOB month thing. You've got a month to decide!

That is blasphemous - Spotify is fabulous!! Do you only get so much internet usage per month through your ISP?

I haven't read much lately either. Mostly because work seems to suck my reading enjoyment dry since all I do for work is read. :(

But I did buy two new books for the flight to/from Indiana! It's the first two books in the Pendgragon Cycle by Stephen Lawhead. I'm on a King Arthur here lately ever since discovering Merlin. :) I'm hoping that I'll enjoy these as much as I did his Song of Albion series. I believe there are 6 books total in the series, so I'll have 4 more books to buy/borrow after these two!

Yes, I only get so much download usage so if I'm downloading too much, I end the month with crappy service.

Those are good books. I don't think I ever read more than the first three when I was in high school but I liked them. He's always well worth a read. Did you like the Robin Hood books?

I've always wanted to read the Robin Hood ones, but I never have. So it's on my list!

I'm surprised Spotify counts as download usage since it's just streaming and not actually downloading the songs...

I thought you'd mentioned reading them but maybe we just talked about the possibility. Hmmm... who do I know who'd actually read them? Now I'm confused.

We had talked about it. I remember going back and forth one night as to whether or not I should buy the first since B&N had it on sale that particular day. I ended up not buying it, but then never got it from the library.

I thought about getting it on Kindle but then I figured that Than might want to read it so maybe I should get the books.

I'd love to have a Kindle, but I'm too afraid it would make my head hurt to read off a screen. Especially since I read off a screen all day and get horrible headaches as a result.

You can check them out at Wal-Mart, I think. I love mine, though. I've never had any trouble with it and I read it for long amounts of time. The ink technology they use is pretty awesome.

And it's much, much easier to eat and read at the same time when you have a Kindle. You don't have to worry about keeping it open!

I think there should a Read-Books month, too, and I'm down with it being January. It's been too long since I've been the nose-in-a-book sort. I miss it! You should definitely make a community!
