lar_laughs: (SGA - gate techs have all the fun)
I have ADDED to my SGA reading list tonight. Like tripled it! And I was doing such a good job of crossing off stories that I've read (AND POSTED A RESPONSE TO!) that I thought I would treat myself with more! At this rate, I'm never going to get the 100 books read that I had planned for this year. I wonder if I should shoot for 12. *grins*

I went on a friending spry, as well. Mostly, I friended people who write stuff I like. And are currently writing and I want to make sure that I'm getting all the stories. If they aren't current or are off-site, I just made note of the journal so I could visit again. R and Aster are right. I need to get out of this self-imposed exile and start living again. I need to friend people without fear. It's been five years. It's time to get involved, more than just flitting from one branch to another. I need to spread some roots. I need to let people matter again. *nods emphatically*

Also signed up for a new challenge. It's a trope fic challenge and I'm discovering that I like those very much! Introduce a girl to AUs and watch out! She can't get enough of them!

That being said, I need some ideas for Alternate Universe stories. Anyone got any ideas? Please, comment here with one or two... or three... AU ideas/ Even if I've already written that sort of crossover, put it here. I'm not looking for anything specific. It can be as simple as High School fic. In some instances, that isn't necessarily an AU but you never know.

Oh, golly. That gave me an idea. *grins* Seriously, I'm not writing quick enough for all the stories coming to my head these days. I can tell that (1)I'm feeling better (yeah, antibiotics!) and (2)I'm content. While I can't sit on that contentment for too long (have to start revising my resume and looking for new jobs!), it's nice to be happy inside and out. This last setback has only just made me more resolved to make a life for myself, online and in real life.

The newest issue of PC World likes the Asus Eee Pad Slider. I'm thinking I want to get one. I need to replace the netbook and I don't really want to go back to the small size. I want something that's productive in all sorts of ways and that seems to be the sort of product that just has my name written on it! I get that tenure check soon. Don't want to give my notice until then so that it's not taken away from me for any reason.

Yay for writing, and I'm glad you're feeling better :)

It's always good to be content, and I think writing has a lot to do with that :)

Yes, I always feel better when I have something to look forward to! Since I can't go on a vacation every other week, I'll just give myself challenges to write for!

And I'm so glad to be feeling better! So is everyone that had to put up with my crankiness and coughing!
