OOoooooh. I lied. I was going to say no to sgareversebang but I said yes. Well, I picked my three choices of artwork. If they come back and say that I can't take those three, I'll know it wasn't meant to be.
Saturday is the St. Baldrick's shaving event and I'm so disappointed that I'm not doing it this year. The good news is that my sister is and so it's nearly as good. The other good news is that she still got me a team t-shirt so it's almost like I'm a full-fledged member of the Mad Hatters.
It looks like she hasn't raised much money but a lot of her friends at the hospital donated to the team (since the team is made up of nurses and techs) so the team is doing GREAT! They've had three different bake sales at the hospital that have done really well. She has funny stories about how the different departments keep fighting over who gets the remainders (everything that is leftover at the end of their allotted time to sell).
If you'd like to donate to St. Baldricks (the money goes toward childhood cancer research and they have a really good rating with the people who rate charitable organizations on how much of their money is used for what they're going to use it for), you can donate to my sister.
Since I'm not shaving my head, I'm going to need to get a haircut.

Date: 2012-03-07 07:39 am (UTC)From:Shaving your head the first time is exhilarating and terrifying. But you sort of forget that there's nothing on your head. I would find myself having to look twice in the mirror because I didn't recognize myself but I don't look in the mirror often. It was other people's expressions that reminded me that I was bald.
Of course, it's become like a THING around here that I shave my head which has been hard since I'm not and I've had to field the question over and over again! But since the site let's you take donations even after the event, it's a good way of letting people know about it even then. Of course, there are still people who think I shaved my head just because. Never could convince them it was for charity.
