I don't work enough Saturdays to remember just how much I HATE working Saturdays. I mean, don't get me wrong, I hate my job on a regular basis during the week but WTF Saturday! Why are you so horrible? Where do you find these people that don't seem to ever shop during the week? What rock are they crawling out only on Saturdays? NO, YOU CAN'T GET RODEO TICKETS AT THE PHARMACY! IN WHAT UNIVERSE WOULD YOU EVER GET RODEO TICKETS AT A PHARMACY? Even if you're out of town (and a lot of people are for this holiday because the locals get smart and LEAVE), you should know that you can't get tickets to ANYTHING at a pharmacy. Except maybe tickets to stand in line for vaccinations.
And then I have the people standing there arguing with me about what their insurance is or isn't paying and I have someone on hold and the pharmacist is out finding anti-nauseas medicine for someone but I don't know why she's out there because she's fairly clueless where things are in the store right now, not being able to get out and wander when we're slow like the techs are. I'm stuck trying to do three things at once and getting frustrated.
So now I'm antsy to be able to leave because I have things to do, frustrated that there isn't anyone else around to help out, and irritated because I'm antsy and frustrated.
You know what the best thing about working a Saturday is, though? I don't have to do it again for another month. I'll have plenty of time to forget how much I loathe it.
