Ah, home again! Such an eventful 24 hours!
Yesterday, I got off work and we drove to Boise (2.5 hours away) to drop Ray off at his brother-in-law's wedding. We went on to my sister and BIL's house, just in time to say good night to Nic.
I brought Spencer this time around and she's always whiney when she's not in her element. We (my dog and I) normally stay with my other sister so this house is a completely new element for Spencer. We stayed in Nice's room (sans Nic) but a closed door didn't mean that the dog wasn't up every hour to roam the room and wonder WHY we weren't somewhere else. Then, when Will woke up, she wanted to be out there with him. It was very irritating because I didn't get very good sleep.
This morning, we got an early start and drove up to catch the Pumpkin Patch Express. You see, in 2001, the Thunder Mountain railroad was decommissioned because it was no longer needed to bring ore and timber from the mountains of Idaho down to the not-mountains of Idaho to be shipped off. Someone stepped in and bought the railroad and it's not being used as a tourist sort of thing. They have all sorts of rides. The one we took was about 20 minutes long both ways and we ended up at a place where we could pick pumpkins.
And this is the funny story of what happened to me. So, it wasn't a field so much as just this little place with a corn maze and a bounce house. The pumpkins that could be chosen were grouped together and you could walk around them to pick the one you wanted. Tif was trying to take a picture of the boys picking theirs out but my shadow was in the way. She told me to move. What did I do? I stepped BACK without looking where I was going. Yeah, that's right. I ended up being taken down by a gang of angry little pumpkins. They even drew blood! I've got a decent scratch up my right lower leg. I also, I've discovered, pulled a muscle on the opposite side. Joyful!
Then we went shopping and I may have gotten a new netbook to replace Pixie. He has not been named yet. I got this instead of getting the TV which I think I will wait for Black Friday and get it then. It's only a little over a month. I an wait.
And now we're back at home and I'm wondering if I'm going to be able to sleep tonight because I napped this afternoon while the rest of the crowd went to a little kid play place. More excuse to stay up and try out my new toy!
