You know what fic idea has been percolating today? Well, the last few days really?

I've wanted to write Leah from Twilight for awhile. Come on, you knew it was coming. Under-Appreciated, Strong Female in a fandom DOMINATED by one or two pairings. It was inevitable that I'd pick Leah to concentrate on. If I'd been a fan of vamps, I'd write more about Victoria but I'm a wolf girl at heart.

There isn't a good companion for Leah. Not one that I like.

But you know who I do like? And she's in the area! MERCY THOMPSON!

Now I'm not a huge fan of crossover fics but the idea of Mercy and Leah hooking up has been gnawing at the edges of my muse for long enough that I want to write it! I've never liked the idea of Mercy giving up any ground to Adam (and I don't think she likes it that much, either) so this solves everything!

...I think.

I finished the books yesterday. And I really don't know that Mercy's going to give much ground where Adam's concerned. I'm just glad she picked him over Samuel...

I have great hopes for Samuel! He's such a great character and I see her holding him out for something great. It's like you can see her setting him up so that we'll love him fully when she brings in the character that is destined to be with him.

Hmmm... Samuel and Leah... the start of a new pack... See, she's set him up to be such a larger than life character that it actually makes me wince to think of writing Samuel fanfic. She's got her work cut out of herself!
