I like writing Graphic Novels so much, I may not go back to regular novel writing!!!! It's so much easier than I thought it would be to translate the pictures in my head into squares and rectangles that combine to tell a story. And I think I'm getting pretty good at it. I've been able to mix and match the sizes of boxes pretty well and even tried a couple of "advanced" panels that I've seen in the comic books I've been perusing.
And speaking of comic books/graphic novels... anyone get the new Serenity book yet? It should be out this month and I have our order guy looking out for it for me. Hooray!
Awesome book if you can get your hands on it... The Magician's Tale by David Hunt. The back cover is from The New York Times Book Review... "A strange seductive story...as eerie as a midnight walk in the fog. David Hunt starts the fog machine by introducing us to the bleak world that a San Francisco photographer named Kay Farrow sees when she looks out from eyes that are completely color-blind. [Her} nocturnal prowls through the Tenderloin district take on a terrible purpose after the bizarre murder of a handsome street hustler who was her favorite model and only friend. The voice of the storyteller grows more intimate, more mesmerizing, once the narrative begins to explore the shadowy secrets in the victim's past. But it is Kay's extraordinary vision that arrests us; with the starkness of a reverse negative, it shows us light and dark, truth and deception, reality and illusion, even good and evil, in ways we never imagined." Anyway, go check it out. I'm about halfway done and I'm loving it!!!!
Finally did my taxes... yes, I'm behind this year. Doing two states SUCKS. Especially Idaho. I couldn't e-file! Aw, yes. When will they be up with the 21st century, I wonder. But I'm thinking I'm going to take my return and get a laptop. I'd really like a tablet but... I don't have that kind of money laying around and the government isn't going to give me that much either. Anyway, I'm getting tired of this downtime that I could be on a computer but I can't get close to one. And it seems that I'll probably start doing more house sitting (I have a gig this weekend that should pay for a couple of tanks of gas, at least) and then the staying with my Gramma in the technology-free zone. I want to get a Mac so that it will be compatible with Millan. Guess that 30 gig iPod will have to wait for awhile longer!
Will give an update soon of PBR last weekend... and hopefully post a pic of my new cowboy boots! Yes, I've gone country. They're black and not at all pointy and ever so comfortable. I can even wear them to work! I've got to get my $90 out of them!
