You were one of the first b_c people I friended because I decided I NEEDED to see any of the new icons you created as soon as you posted them.

Dax is my cat (who I absolutely adore). I named her after a character from Star Trek Deep Space Nine, one of the first women I ever looked up to as a child. So daxcat. The 79 is my favorite number. Yes, I have a favorite number. lol It's also related to star trek (Star Trek Voyager) from a character named Seven Of Nine. Star Trek was the first fandom I ever fell in love with, so it's kinda got a special place in my heart even though I look at that stuff now and I'm like oh lord... lol

Ooh now see this is when I'm glad that I track my reading (http://allisnow.livejournal.com/1448831.html#cutid1). Hmm. Of the new stuff I've read this year, nothing really stands out. Can I say Georgette Heyer's stuff in general, since I just kind of discovered her? If not, I reread Gaskell's North and South, and that's definitely in my top 10 :)

Because of kid!fic (that is still in the work) and just being awesome!

Colorguard! I did Winter Guard (we only had flags) my senior year which was the first year our school ever had it. Gotta throw down love for anyone who knows how to flip stuff around in the air!

I was very tentative about friending you because I know that some community figureheads (as it is often a group effort to have a community with this much awesome but there is always someone who stands a little bit more in the forefront) get overwhelmed with friend requests but I finally couldn't resist!

Oh, where to start... I adore that you are a very grounded person with a very free spirit. You are multi-faceted (like a beautiful jewel) without being sharp (it's easy to get to know all aspects of your life and personality). You may bend under the daily pressures of life but you will never break!

Camp NaNo! That I don't think worked out for either one of us but I love being talked into things like that and it was fun to know that there was someone on the other side who was plugging away at the same time!

It was SGA related but I can't remember why I finally caved and got over my fear of friending... I think I saw you commenting on stuff at other people's journals. I know I stalked you for awhile but I stalked most people.

the rotating wonder of joy that is your headers! I've been known to click on one of your entries just to see what comes up when I do!

You are an amazing mother who puts your children first! That is so awesome! I love reading about their exploits!

I remember reading that you were watching the Avengers Red Carpet event (yes, I reread through your journal - it's not like I remembered this off the top of my head) via live streaming and I thought, "Wow! She's crazy!" but now I understand so I should beg your forgiveness for thinking you were crazy!

It is because of you that I was NEARLY a diehard Clint/Coulson shipper (and still count it as a very close second where Clint is concerned) so I'm going with those two!
