Hmmm. Well I'll just do what I keep doing with the comics... only noticing the bits I like and ignoring the rest. Buffy's a tv show so comics = not canon. (Xander/Dawn though are an awesome ship and I'm keeping that bit).
I just like the chance to see all the way into Joss' head. He's been able to pull off some great stuff with the comics that he couldn't have done on TV. Of course, I haven't liked all those things either. It's been a fun ride, though.
I think my main problem is that I'm not a comics person. I find some times I'm not sure who the person speaking is (Andrew in particular doesn't look particularly like anyone a lot of the time and I end up having to wait for another character to identify him). I feel no emotional connection to a bunch of drawings where with actual actors on a screen (even when the dialogue is a bit shoddy or the effects are dodgy or what have you) I'm very quickly interested in what's happenning. Also, I once worked out how much their projected number of comics for season 8 would be in terms of money and it was so much money that I actually feel a little bit resentful towards it. Its more than I would pay for a DVD, hell you can get the entirity of BTVS s1-7 for double that price, for less enjoyment. So, yeah, some of the stories are nice and you can see why they couldn't have been done but... its just not Buffy. *shrug*
