Every year on Labor Day, Ketchum ends the summer with the Wagon Days celebration. This draws people from all over the WORLD! People are packed in like sardines as they watch the parade and participate in all the activities. Businesses have one final hurrah before the slow season before ski season starts.
They cancelled it this year because of the fire. This will hurt an already financially depressed community.
But the good news is that they've only had brief flares up on Bald Mountain and it hasn't gotten too close to the ski lanes and equipment.

I asked Mom what the black lines are and she says they're the backhoe lines. She said that Dad said that some of these places they've gone in as many as three times trying to clear brush and trees away so that the fire doesn't have any fuel... like this...
