I don't believe I ever put this up here in this journal, either! For shame!

This is one of my most favorite drabbles that I've ever done. I played on what might have happened and came up with...

*sigh* It makes sense to support the writers instead of whining so here I go.

I got this from the [livejournal.com profile] wga_supporters community, originally posted by [livejournal.com profile] bardicvoice.

I read through the community and it does make sense. As a writer, even an unpaid, untested one, I should support these people who are asking for a cut of something they created. It's their words that we watch over and over again on DVD and iTunes downloads. Why shouldn't they get a cut?

And I don't want a TV full of reality shows. It smacks of that Doctor Who episode that I can't remember the name of that deals with Satellite 9. A world of either continuous news or continuous reality shows. No fun!

Someone mentioned that this strike doesn't just affect the current writers but all those people that are struggling to break into the business or will someday be in the business.

I'm not exactly sure what I can do other than to complain to the networks if it becomes unindated with too many reality shows or reruns. Someone else on the site mentioned looking for good articles and support the newspeople that are writing about the strike. I could make sure I'm only giving out true information in the inevitable conversations about what's going on.

Oh My Heavens! This was heaven sent once again.

[livejournal.com profile] kris_reisz posted a great blog from Philip Pullman about how to write a book. And the Kris proceeded to write about how he doesn't outline either and I sighed with relief.

Every year people talk about outlining their NaNo and I've never, ever been able to outline so I got worried that once again I was doing it wrong. It doesn't feel wrong when I just write so I've always just done it but sometimes, for instance around the 10k count which I hit yesterday amid the bustle of Panera, I think that maybe it could be easier if I outlined.

I couldn't do it in junior high. I'm not going to do it now.

*grins*

Edit... On second thought, I do sort of outline. About a day ahead. For instance, today I'm going to write about Triss and her obsession with Taylor's eyes. I've known about that since yesterday. Today sometime I'll figure out what I'm writing tomorrow. And so on. And so forth.

Tonight was the Loreena McKennitt concert!

OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG!

It was sooooo good! I had tears in my eyes nearly the entire time just because I was so amazed that I was hearing those great songs in such a great venue. Granted, we were really high up and the balcony was a bit too steep for my liking (I was a bad fan and didn't stand for the encores) but we could see the stage really well since we were straight back and could see the whole group.

She pretty much did an entire set of songs that I knew. If you've seen the PBS special from Nights from the Alhambra, you would have known the set. Seeing the music being played was just as cool as listening to it. The guy on violin (or filddle as they called it) was AWESOME but the lady on cello was not to be out done. The program is still out in the car so I can't give you a list of some of the other random instruments but I do remember that there was a Hurdy Gurdy because we had a long conversation about it.

I ended up buying the 3 disc set of Nights from the Alhambra because I really wanted the DVD that came with it. Can't wait to watch it. I got so many good ideas and had such a good time. It will bring up good memories!

Thank you Dawn and SaraJo for the ticket! Quite possibly the best birthday present EVER.

to sign up for NaNo. It's done and I'm official once again. Sad to be changing my "area" because I'm moving from a very active area to one that is considered "everything but Boise" which means it's packed with people who don't necessarily live by one another. There seems to be an active Twin Falls group (about an hour away) and I'm going to try to get to at least one meeting once I get moved.

I can't imagine NOT doing NaNo. It's what I do every November. It would be more stressful to not be doing it. This is who I am... a glutton for punishment.

Stop by and visit if you've signed up. I'm Larinzia Hope just like always. Used to be from Colorado Springs, Colorado. Now I'm from Carey, Idaho.

Every year on Labor Day, Ketchum ends the summer with the Wagon Days celebration. This draws people from all over the WORLD! People are packed in like sardines as they watch the parade and participate in all the activities. Businesses have one final hurrah before the slow season before ski season starts.

They cancelled it this year because of the fire. This will hurt an already financially depressed community.

But the good news is that they've only had brief flares up on Bald Mountain and it hasn't gotten too close to the ski lanes and equipment.

I need to move this list and make it open. This is all the books I've recieved from paperbackswap.com! And the list keeps growing although not nearly as quickly as it was. If it's struck out, I've read it. If it's in italics, I've sent it to someone else.

This is one of the stories I wrote over the Christmas break. I wish I had a pic of the actual brown pot it's written for because it's a real piece of pottery that my sister made in her ceramics class last semester and it's COOL! Anyway, I don't know why I've been holding onto this other than sometimes it's good to hold onto things for awhile just to make sure they still feel right when you need them again.
