I just finished watching Dollhouse (except for the 13th episode which Hulu won't be showing) and it was AWESOME! If you didn't watch it... well, you're out of luck because Hulu only goes 5 episode back so you can't start it from the beginning but be looking for the DVDs! Get them from Netflix if you don't believe me how cool the show is. HELLO! JOSS WHEDOM IS MADE OF AWESOME! Incidently, Whedon is on Twitter. @drhorrible don't you know!

This was my first day back at work after 10 days of vacation (although 5 of those were days off but still...) and it was HARD! My body had to get used to not being able to just lounge around. Even when I was packing my sister's apartment up, I could still stop from time to time and do something fun and relaxing. Work is HARD! *grins*

We're in for a week's worth of rain, from what I can tell from the little I've looked at the weather. Today we're already at Flash Flood warnings! We do need the water so we aren't complaining too loudly. I did miss seeing the sun today, though. Not that my shoulders want to see too much more of the sun anytime soon.

I'm hoping to get to stop at Burger King when we're in Boise next weekend (still things at Mandie's place to move to the new house) so I can get at least ONE of the Star Trek glasses. I love fast food chain glasses. It's a weakness of mine. I still have some of the original Disney glasses (although they are plastic) from McDonalds. They're some of my most prized possessions!

My hair has begun to do odd things. I shouldn't complain because it's been two months and I have quite a bit of hair. Everyone says so! Of course, they have the same amount of hair but my growth is just more noticeable - it sticks straight up! I like that it's mostly up so I don't do anything to make it lay down. Some parts have started to lean to the side but I almost look "contemporary bedroom chic" these days! In other words, like I just got out of bed. Yep. I PLANNED it that way. *grins*

If you've read any of my Twitter updates, you'll know that I'm on vacation. Yes, we came to where summer is... but it isn't any warmer than home right now! Phoenix is currently seeing some wet weather which means it's a little bit cooler than normal. In fact, the night we got here it was only 79... but it was 82 for a high that day in Boise! Go figure!

We're here to attend the wedding of one of my sister's roommates from college. Last night was the rehearsal dinner which we were invited to. I tried to get out of it but was finally convinced to attend because of my mother's pleading looks. She and I knew one person there - the bride. Mandie didn't know too many other people. She only knew the groom through a few "This isn't Brian, it's really Hope" text messages.

My only real request was that we get to go to the zoo. We went yesterday morning - a perfect day for it! The animals were all out and it wasn't overly crowded. Hooray! My other request has yet to be granted but I think we'll be able to work in a trip to either Chic-Fil-A or Chipolte soon. Mandie has announced that Chic-Fil-A is getting closer to Idaho. There's one in Salt Lake now. All that chickeny goodness is only 3 hours away from us now! Whoo-hoo!

I've poked around and no one seems to have read the Charlie Bone books so I thought I'd give my recommendation for them. As someone wrote on a comment (I think on Walmart.com where I was looking for book ideas the other day), don't go into this book thinking it's another Harry Potter. Even though I found this book initially in a listing of "Books you'd like if you liked Harry Potter", it's nothing really like Harry Potter. The only problem is that it IS like Harry Potter. And that isn't a good thing. You get so caught up trying to see the similarities that you miss the parts of the book that are just fun and nothing like JKR's take on magic.

I've only got about 5 more pages of the first book but I'm going to read the second and I'd recommend the books. This first one reads pretty young, maybe even younger than the first HP book. Maybe around an 8 or 9 year old? He's ten in this first book... and it can get intense (on the scale of those are bad people... not oh no that snake is coming after that poor boy)... but it reads really fast. The idea is still very unique and shows that there is still a lot of room in the world of fantasy for magic... and boys with red hair (there is a notable sentence that mentions a boy with "weasley red hair" which made me grimace).

So, anyway... I don't find the whole thing fanfiction worthy but I like it all the same.

Have I mentioned I'm in charge of crafts at Calvary Bible Church's Vacation Bible School next month. In charge. Yep. Me. I don't really like being in charge of things and I especially don't like bureaucracy... and I didn't put down the list of meetings on my calendar when I first got the little hand out that I can no longer find so I missed the big meeting where I was supposed to show off the main project for this year's VBS. That's okay because I didn't really have the idea until yesterday.

This is what we're doing!

Well, not exactly like this. Instead of buying this particular kit, I'm going to make one up. The top is going to be an inch of round PVC pipe. 5 strings of beads will come off it with beads (like this idea) but with a shrinky dink verse on the bottom of each. There will be the main verse colored and decorated around the PVC pipe.

This is my calculations just for beads.(you don't need to read the math if you don't want to) )

So, in a nutshell... don't tell me what to do, I'll eventually figure it out and it won't be on your timetable.

One should not really be a stubborn ass when one is working with a church one does not even attend anymore but... one can't seem to help it. *grins*
